    You should never buy anything green this month. If you do, you will be in mourning before the year is out.
    MARCH.
    A chicken that comes out in March is the healthiest bird of the year and the best layer.
    An old saying.-
    "My Con or Jack is a real March bird."
    Old people dread the March winds. People with any delicacy dislike the coming and going of the leaves.
    SAINT JOHN'S NIGHT, 23rd JUNE
    Bon-fires were lit all over this district that night. A crowd collected round the fires and danced and sang.
    When the farmers lit the bon-fire, they drove their cows by the side of it.
