  1. There are not many churns in the district now, and they have become completely extinct in the town.
    Butter is made twice a week in Summer and about once a week in Winter; as the cream is more scarce then.
    Two persons are needed at the churning, the man and woman of the house do it locally. Strangers who come in always help at the churning if they did not do so the people would think they had the intention of stealing the butter,
