“There was a man ploughing near Rathmore.”
There was a man ploughing near Rathmore. He was gone about half-ways in it, when a voice told him to stop. He said "It would not be worth my while to stop before dinner". So he did a few more rounds and he was called to his dinner. When he came back from his dinner all the sods were turned in. He did not plough any more. It was said that field was the burying ground of the monks.
(Others say that a man was drowned near the place about 40 years ago. )- Collector
