Mrs. E. Buckley Secretary (Ned Buckley's mother)Committee: Miss Julia Nolan, Mrs Dennehy, Mrs Nora Howard, Miss Kate Howard, Mrs. Chas. Linehan, Miss Margaret Nolan, Mrs. Daniel Sheehan Mrs Hanora Buckley, Miss Ellie Sheehan Miss Fanny Parnell paid a visit to Knocknagree in 1883 or 1884. She got a wonderful reception, John OConnell thinks that the 'No Rent' Manifesto was posted up that night which led to much disturbance.
In the clashes with the police the women were as much to the fore as the men and Mrs Ellen "Neddy" Buckley (the Secretary) often urged the crowd on and referred to Limerick and the fight the women made with sticks and bottles and stones etc.
