    the evicted tenants were sent to distant houses of friends those who were under other Landlords.
    Tim Corbett, a simple innocent old man took the Caretaking of the three farms and on Knocknagree Fair Day - the 20th October 1880 his cabin was burned to the ground and it was only through the kindness and pity of his neighbours (who felt that he knew no better) that his miserable possessions were saved. Archdeacon Bland sensed opposition to his care-taker and had the R.I.C sent to Knocknagree for the first time. A hut was built on the lands and this was the R.I.C. headquarters until 1908. The Landleague was formed in that year 1880 and Daniel J Mahoney Tureenclasoagh; Thady Nolan of Farrankeal, 'Robin' Howard of Knockeenagullane and Arthur O'Leary of Lowlands were the principal men in it. A man named Johnson who owned an hotel in Kanturk and who was supposed to be of German descent gave food and clothes to the evicted tenants.
    Other evictions were threatened, but when a tenant was under notice his son went to the agent and took his father's land as a supposed
