    When after thirteen days we were placed in a boat.
    For twenty four hours without breaking the fast.
    No light no air each weary hour passed,
    Hungry and cold we together were massed.
    When to our great amazement we landed in Belfast.
    The lorries were waiting and the soldiers stood round.
    On a dangerous plank we came down to the ground.
    The hand- cuffs were ready each two then were tied.
    And placed in a lorry for that beautiful ride.
    Now in that famous city it is strange to be told.
    A woman she waved to us the green white and gold.

    Though under the bayonets we thought of Sinn Féin.
    But the next place we found ourselves was on board of a train.
    We are now at the camp and we dont know how long.
    But we know that our cause it is wonderful
