    Long ago it was the custom for the people to do their own churning. There were different kinds of churns. Some were worked by the leg and others by the hand. Some handles on them are on the top and others in the side.
    Often the people with the small numbers of cows got more butter than the farmer with a big numbers of cattle. Some people worked spells to take the butter.
