    and promise her half of the treasure "Because" said she, "A half a loaf is better than no bread".
    When they reached Limerick again, they found that the witch had left her house and after numerous inquiries they could get no trace of her. They had to return home without the information they wanted. In the meantime, they set to work again to unearth the treasure, but all to no avail.
    Stories are told about this treasure even yet, and hopes are entertained that some day the crock of gold will be found.
