    As a mile runner he had no equal. About the year 1899 he emigrated to Americia.
    William Dalton was another famous runner. He competed in all the 100 yards’ events and was scarcely ever beaten. When fourteen years of age, he was appointed as Monitor in Freemount Boy's school. This position he held for the full term, and then he went to Americia.
    Berihert Barry was a great hurler in his day. He played with the Freemount team from 1897 to 1903. This man still lives at Aughrim, and if ever he meets with any of his old comrades, he is sure to mention the
