    is one farmer lent his horse to his neighbour to do certain work, principally ploughing, on condition that he would get his horse in return when required. A labourer repaid a farmer for the use of his horse, by working a certain number of days in his farm.
    In the case of swapping animals, sometimes 'boot' is given by one of the parties. When a person gets goods in a shop on the understanding that he will pay at some future date he is said to get goods on 'tick'. If one buys goods to the value of two shillings and if he gets back sixpence out of a half a crown this is called change.
