    In stately splendour stand
    Their name historic ranks among
    The proudest in the land.
For there it was that heroes fought
    And fell in Freedom's cause
In bygone days when Erin groaned

    Returned the onslaught then
    With daring might and chivalry
    Like heroic gallant men.
