“We are now living in a slated house but the old thatched house where my father was born is still standing.”
We are now living in a slated house but the old thatched house where my father was born is still standing.
We still prepare the food for calves and pigs in the old kitchen where a bellows has been put in.
The quarter of beef to keep away the Blackquarter is still to be seen almost hidden in the soot in the chimney.
There was a trap door in the ceiling of one room and in the attic above can still be seen a piece of timer roughly cut to form a kind of arch. [drawing on page]
There is a doubled sougán tied round the middle of it and also round one of the rafters.
Nobody now knows what use was made of it.- Collector
