  1. The White Star Liner, Titanic struck an iceberg and drowned six hundred people.
    There was a house went on fire near Glenville about seven or eight years ago. A spark went out from the chimney and went on the thatch.
    A few of the neighbours saw it and ran to the scene.
    After a while they quenched it with water and wet bags. They had it insured and they got two hundred pounds when it was burned.
    The hay farm of Jack Murphy who lives in Knockapogue went on fire. A tramp slept there and he threw a match on it. It was lighting all day until dinner time. When the men were going out from their dinner one them looked back and saw it on fire. They ran back and called the neighbours and they put out the fire.
