    They got three basins, water in one, a ring in the second, and earth in the third.
    Whoever put his hand in the water would cross water.
    Whoever put his hand into the basin with the ring would get married.
    Whoever put his hand into the basin with the earth would die.
    The woman of the house would make a cake for that night and she would put a ring in it.
    At tea time all the crowd would sit around the table.
    The cake was cut for everyone in turn and everyone looked out anxiously for the ring.
