  1. About 3 miles north of Fermoy there was an old witch who lived for 200 years. She enchanted a beautiful field which she filled with glittering treasure. People heard about this treasure. Many of them have attempted to dig up the field to find it but when they return next morning after having spent the previous day digging, they find the field is smooth and green as if never a sod had been turned in it. When the witch was dying she said nobody would ever get the treasure.
