  1. A man named Paddy Foley lived in this village. He was noted for his wit.
On one occasion a funeral came to Rathcormac Cemetery. One of the jarveys came to a Public House and asked of Paddy Foley who was at the door:
    "Can I come in."
As the day was Sunday the Public House was shut. The jarvey was a big, strong, fat man. Paddy paused, looked closely at the jarvey and at the door, and then replied:
"Wait a minute, until I get a tape and measure you."
