    forward and setting spurs to his horse though to escape but just as the horse was passing he caught a few hairs of its tail and kept running along behind until he came to the Red Forge every now and then he attempted to unhorse the rider with his sword, but failing in this and being come within the precints of the city, he struck the horse with his sword and then fearing a pursuit, he turned round and went northward towards the mountains. The horse lived only to reach its master's door and there fell dead under its riders feet. A troop of Dragoons was immediately sent after him, and coming in view of him they pursued him along the Mallow Road and on towards the Blackwater.
