The tithes were collected also. One tenth of the value of the farm produce was collected by the tithe proctors and these were hated by everyone. There is a story told of a seizure which was made in the north of this Parish by the proctors and as they were leaving with some cattle they were attacked by the neighbours who took the cattle from them.(no title)
