    Oh Donoughmore! in summer days how charming to resort,
    To your valley which the Shournagh through it freely gushes forth.
    The music of the waters would the saddest heart regale,
    Ambitiously competing with the beauties of the vale.
    These beauties ever verdant which peculiarly belong,
    To that sweet spot so long renowned in history and song.
    But of all the scenes that in my dreams I've nightly travelled o'er,
    I'd choose to serve by Derry's grove in dear old Donoughmore.

    The gallant boys of Paddy's land will muster in array.
    To claim their nations birthright with no craven lips or hand,
    But freedoms sword the only word her foes will understand.
