    captain, who had been startled at the strange occurrance, going ashore called on Mr. Kidney and offered to buy the cock. Mr. Kidney refused to part with it but being persuaded he finally sold the cock to the captain, who took the bird on board the schooner. On the morning following the third night Mr. Kidney died. This incident proves the old saying "that a cock crows danger for its owner."
