   When all had quietened down the smith laid his hand on Philip and he said to the giant, "this is Philip Ronayne". After that the rocks seemed to fall down and the giant with the rest of his pages disappeared and the smith found himself at the entrance to the cave with Philip in his arms. He then returned Philip to his parents and they all lived happily ever after. The entrance to the cave can be seen to the present day when the tide goes out.

2. Local Tradition - Rope-Making

   One of the oldest industries of Passage was rope making. This was carried on at a place now called Canning Place. The old people call that place the "Rope Walk". No traces are left of the old sheds where the ropes were made.
