    dry, add a small peice butter, this served for a week ought cure irritation in the blood. If the leaves are boiled with out salt, the water may be used to bathe a sore or abscess and it will help the healing. An ointment may be made of the water in which nettles have been stewed, let it be a very strong decocation; use as a fomentation on any inflamed joint or rheumatic trouble, and relief will be given.

    Dock leaves
    A dock-leaf well washed may be laid on any painful sore, and will give ease. While the root of the docks if boiled in vinegar and used as a lotion will cure many kinds of skin irritation.
