  1. Cnoicin.
    Paddy dear you're welcome here.
    From Cappamore so gay.
To break the stones in Cnoicin.
    Which lies so near Athea.
    Cnoicin which once had been.
    A hill of old renown.
And since you came here with delight.
    It quickly tumbled down.

The triple leaf from off its crest.
I plucked when quite a boy.
To wear it on St. Patrick's day.
    With Irish pride and joy.
    But now instead a watershed.
    Which never cease to flow.
    When the job is out.
    The men will shout.
And for the dole again we'll go.

Our journey takes our claim to make.
    In Newcastle far away.
And when they will be paid.
