    On Christmas morning at the last loud call,
    Death came on to give a call,
    To this poor man who has now failed,
    That is poor Father Casey of Abbeyfeale.
    II
    The day of his funeral crowds came in
    From Ballyhahill, Listowel and Glin,
    From sweet Athea and the surrounding vale,
    They came to meet father Casey of Abbeyfeale.
    III
    To view his funeral it was something fine,
    To see eighty clergy all in a line,
    They marched the square and down Chapel lane,
    Tis there Father casey do now remain.
