- (continued from previous page)On the night the bride would go to her new home boys and girls called "Soppers" used to visit the house. They used to dress themselves in gaily coloured clothes and they used to have a captain who used to be dressed different to the othes so as to distinguish himself.
When they used to go into the house the first thing they used to do was to seek the bride and they used to take her out dancing. They used to stay for a little while enjoying themselves and they used to get plenty of liquor from the people of the house and then they used go home.
These boys used also be called "Straw-boys" because they used wear hats made of straw.- Collector
