    Written by Michael Lane,
    Glenastar, Ardagh.
    Facts collected from:
    John Lane.
    "The Foot of Rooska Hill".
    One day in recreation.
The fields all round been brightly crowned.
    With flowers of every king.
About mid day I chanced to stray.
    Down a portlong rill.
And as I did pass I met a lass.
At the foot of Rooska Hill.
She was not vain, but straight and plain.
She was not very tall I own.
    She wore a purple robe.
    Likewise a knitted shawl.
Her golden hair was flashing fair.
