- Long ago people had healthier and stronger feet than we have now because it is not always they used to have shoes on. Sometimes they would not have shoes until the age of eleven or twelve. In this locality the children go barefoot each Summer, which makes their feet strong and healthy. They never go barefoot the whole year round but tinkers are often seen barefoot even in the Winter. It is said that if you had corns and walked in the dew that it would cure them. Boots are not made locally but they are repaired by(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
