- There was very severe weather in this parish a long time ago. There were a few people sitting down near a fire in Glenduff and the lightning came down the chimney and burned the boots off one of them. Horses and cattle were killed in this district by lightning. The frost was so severe that the birds came into the houses for food and shelter and hundreds of them died.
