    him that the police were to come to take him to jail. There were three brothers living in Adare, and everyone around was afraid of them. The Whiteboys were sent for to take the guns off them. When the Whiteboys came near, Jack told them to stay at a certain distance and keep watch, while he went and attacked them.When he came near the house he went up the side of it and went down the chimney and asked them to hand him out the guns, one of the brothers got up and gave him the guns because he was afraid. One day the police surrounded his house trying to arrest him. When Jack heard them outside, he took of his clothes, and he told his wife to open the door for him. He rushed out and they could not catch him because he had no clothes on him, in the end he escaped but got crippled.
