- One day three men were drawing sea-grass from the shore in Kerry. Their names were Hennessys. They saw a mermaid sitting on the rocks and her cap fell off. One of the Hennessys went out on the water for the cap and carried it home with him and put it on a loft every night for for two years the loft was shaking. One day the Hennessys went up on the to clean the loft. They found the cap and they thought that was the cause of all the noise. One day they were going for sea-grass and they carried the cap with them. They saw the mermaid sitting on a rock. They let the cap and the mermaid and put it on her and she was never seen anymore.
