- It is said that the Banshee was heard above near Cullinane's house, Ballynoe, Ballingarry. It was heard the night James Cullinane was dying. People that passed Cullinane's house, going to the fair of Rathkeale, and knowing that Cullinane's had no dog, heard the crying .
It was somewhat like a dog crying. My father heard it near Ballingarry. It is said that the Banshee is heard when a person of an old family is dying.- Collector
