Holly is put up in the house at Xmas and is not taken downuntil after "Little Christmas",
Written by Maria Murphy, Church St. - Many objects were put on the walls of houses in olden times in honour of special saints. Some people made St. Bridget's Cross and others St. Patrick's Cross. They were made from Kilkishes (?) and branches of Palm trees. Others hung the cross overhead the door.On May Eve Holy Water is shaken on the castle, on gardens on houses and people to keep away the fairies.Bridget O'Donnell, Ballinachera
