- The cure the old people had for a sty in the eye was to rub your fasting spittle to it in the morning. Their cure for worts was to wash them on the water you would find on the top of a stone. They said if you picked up as many stones as you had of worts and to scatter them at some cross of four roads whoever would pick one of them would take the worts. If a calf had a worm it is said if you made the cleas na péiste over it that it would cure it.
