Last Saturday night as I chanced for
to roll
To sweet Glenbrohane I went for a stroll.
As I passed by O'Donovan's I made a tour in,
And I spent my time chatting with
Anne of the Glen.

Young Anne she's as fair as e'er can
be found.
Tho the fairest of maidens there do abound
Like the hare in the mountain and the fox
in his den:
But as pure as the fountain is young
