“There are two forts situated near my district. One of them is in Corlish...”
There are two forts situated near my district. One of them is in Corlish and the other is in Bunavoy. The fort in Corlish is situated on Patrick O'Brien's land, and it is surrounded by trees and bushes.About fifty years ago a man cut the trees and bushes that were growing around the fort. Two years after he became lame and later he got crippled. He got well again in about eight years, but he was delicate until he died. Sometimes a horse can be heard (gallo) gapolling through the bushes of the fort. The fort in Bunavoy is situated on John Ryan's land. It is surrounded by bushes and a ditch. There is a gap in one side of it. A dog is seen about two hundred yards from the fort very often.Philip Gleeson
