    To look over the Column that day in Drumkeen.
    The ranks are now broken, each man to his place.
    To fight and remember the men of our race.
    To die if needs be in the land [unknown].
    While looking his last on the foe of Drumkeen.
    The order is given "Get ready, Prepare".
    You could hear a fly fall so still was the air
    Till twas read by the voice of a Irish Colleen.
