Some say that the corncrake is not a migratory bird but that she remains in a barn. She is a brown speckled bird with long legs and beak. Although her voice is not musical, we love to hear her call "corncrake". She makes an untidy nest of hay amid the long grass of the meadows in which she lays four or five eggs. The young bird resembles baby turkeys.
