There are four corners on my bed,
There are four angels round my head,
    Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,
God bless this bed I lay on,
Lord be the branch Mary be the flower,
Oh: my sweet Jesus be at my bedside at my dying hour.
Heart of Jesus I adore Thee,
Heart of Mary I implore Thee,
Heart of Joseph pure and just,
On those three hearts I place my trust.
This prayer was said by children at night when they lay down in bed. Sometimes they finished it with "God bless Daddy" cló.
