- (e) A tunnel connected the monastery with a mound about sixty yards distant. This mound is presently called the Greenane. In the tunnel was a cell into which the monks used to go and pray for three days and three nights without eating or sleeping.(f) About forty years ago as workmen were engaged in digging operations near St. Columb's Well; human bones were dug up and were supposed to be those of some members of the monastery.
