- (continued from previous page)The indications of a fine day are - liveliness in animals and birds. a sheen on the hills & on Lough Derg. and the quick rise of the morning fog. and the absence of a cap (?) from Keeper Hill. Snow is indicated by a sulleness in the air, a softness after cold and a northerly wind. The Birds come together and stay on the ground when we are near a fall of snow.
Wind is indicated when the clouds stand still in the sky, and when there is a large circle around the moon.(continues on next page)- Informant
