    Boys made whistles from horsechesnuts by taking out the white inside with a nail. They then blow into the hole made by the nail.
    Another kind of crib was also made. It was made of laths, the first four being of equal length, and the next four being a little shorter and so on until they almost close in on top. Every four laths are tied at the corners.
