    cake. Potatoe-cake. Potatoes were generally used. They bread would be made every day of the week, On the top of the cake those who would be making would put a cross on the top of it, The vessel which the cake is baked in is called an oven or a baker. The bread is often baked at the side of the fire & put a few sods of turf for support to it.
