They bread would be made every day of the week, On the top of the cake those who would be making would put a cross on the top of it, The vessel which the cake is baked in is called an oven or a baker. The bread is often baked at the side of the fire & put a few sods of turf for support to it.
- Bread was made from wheat and from potatoes long. They used querns for grinding. the wheat and it was used in my district. It was whole meal(continues on next page)
