Sliding We amuse ourselves at this in winter, when the frost is on the roads; and on a wet day, we often make a "slide" on a path in a field; this often covers us with mud
"Fox" This game we play in summer when we have left off our boots, a fast runner is picked out; he runs through the trees in our playground, and often through the neighbouring fields when our teacher is not looking. The other boys all follow him in a "pack"making strange noises like hounds. When the "fox" is caught, his clothes often suffer.
Marbles Three holes are made on a level piece of the school yard, a line is marked about a yard from the first hole, the holes are also a yard apart. A boy puts his hand on the line, holding a marble between finger and thumb; he "fires" the marble(continues on next page)- Collector
