  1. Some of the cures supposed to have benn possessed by the travelling peoplealready refered to, are yet to be found in our district. They are known only to certain families, and have come down from generation to generation.The name of some of those families are the Suttons, Delaneys, and the McCanns.All are well known people on the district. The first have a cure known as "Rohans Plaster". The second have a ointment and a prayer and it is supposed to cure an evil. And the third have a cure for ringworms, and general skin diseases.
    Weakness and fainting: the local cure is squeeze four fingers of the left hand, this is supposed to put the heart beating properly.
    Chin (Whooping) Cough One cure for this is to boil "Barberry Bark" a shrub found locally, for two hours and drink half a teacupfull of the syrup every day.
