    Paddy O Raferty
    "Sure I asked him to take," says Paddy tis true
    As this minute I'm talking to you Reverence to you
    He wouldn't accept it then what can I do
    Says Paddy and he choking with laughter
    Paddy made off to the brisk[?] widow hoy[?]
    And the pullet[?] between them was eaten with joy
    "Oh! sure 'tis you the cleverest boy
    Paddy O Raferty
    Note - Paddy O Raferty was a blacksmith and he worked in a forge out in Millpark[?] which is about half a mile out the Birr Road. The forge is not there now. Paddy O Raferty is dead about forty years. He used to go around from house to house telling stories every night and this song was composed about him.
