    and erected a monestery on the outskirts of the town, which he title Monahincha on which spot the ruins now stand.
    Many stories are told of his life some of which are facts. One which shows the unselfish character of the saint is widely told. Two men travelling from Limerick to Dublin were benighted in Roscrea and having no money they decide to look for refuge in St Cronan's monastery. Their search did not prove an easy one as the monastery was situated two miles away on the outskirsts of the town so they were obliged to remain in the open all night. The story was told to Saint Cronan, who decided to erect a monastery in the town, which would be more convenient for
