    and remained awake. Her brother got her to sprinkle the holy water around the room and said she nee not be afraid. Around mid-night the apparition appeared, its head as if on fire, dashed through the room and then seemed to make its exit through one of the walls. One of the local priests, I think it was Fr. Fennelly C.C. resolved to exorcise the uncanny visitant and succeeded in getting it outside the house much to the peace of the inhabitants. The Carrolls had then left that house as the younger members of the family lived in a condition of perpetual fright because of its annoyance. The house in question was near the big tree, now no longer a land
