    1 Eating dandelions was a cure for heart-disease.
    2 Raw potatoes carried in the pocket was believed to be a cure for rheumatism. According as the potato would be withering the pain would be leaving.
    3 Garlic steeped in whiskey was a cure for a stomach ache.
    4 Sulphur and unsalted butter cured ringworm.
    5 House-leek and fresh lard were a cure for a burn.
    6 A fasting spit for nine mornings was a cure for warts. The spit was rubbed over the warts.
