    One day as the people were out in their gardens they saw somthing coming on the potatoes as they were nearly fit to be dug. It was called "the blight". The people had nothing to eat but the potatoes and Porridge and then they had nothing but Indian Meal Porridge and many of them died. There was a sickness in the country aat that time also and they died in the hundred. Some people left the country to go to America and more could not leave it. One thousand people died, and one thousand went to America After a while food came
