- Loughnafulla (Loch na Fola) is the name given to a certain place not very far from Thurles. Here a great battle is supposed to have been fought between Brian Boru and the Danes.
About 15 years ago, when the land was being ploughed, guns(?) & swords- in a very dilapidated condition- were found there. These are held to have been used in that particular battle.
